From the first baby steps on the ice to leading a large group of people, I have come a long way into creating the best version of myself.
After placing third at a national competition, I qualified for Team USA’s funding, which was separated into 4 groups
My figure skating team and I competed at Bordeaux, France, for Junior Worlds in 2024. We placed fifth out of ten teams there.
Received a legendary scholarship from the United States Figure Skating Association, which helped cover my travel and skating expenses
Allowed younger skaters to borrow old dresses at no cost as a part of my non-profit club, Go Go Figure Skating Dresses.
My non-profit club and the Glacier Falls Junior Board collaborated to host a closet sale at a local competition, where skaters donated old and used dresses and clothing to be priced for less. Sold out nearly all the clothing and dresses
Qualified for the ISP (International Selection Pool) my freshman year and sophomore year . I received higher attention towards selection for international competitions and was on the same roster as Olympians.
Was awarded the Presidential Gold Volunteer Service Award and the Congressional Award. Also was awarded the Senator’s Award (not shown here)
Work at the UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health included processing OCT blocks of dissected prostate in liquid nitrogen as shown above
Was permitted to become a trial judge for the second time at a local competition, following protocols and inputting scores for competitors
The Glacier Falls Junior Board hosted a grand end-of-year Christmas Party at a rented venue to celebrate the hard work we had done throughout the year.
Volunteered and led events at Watergarden Mission, an organization dedicated to helping the intellectually disabled. Here, I am leading a simple dance that would light up the faces of many.
Placed third out of 83 skaters in the country in the novice level (also shown on the right), landing me a position on the prestigious national development team and a spot on the Team USA D roster.
Organized a candlelight vigil for the numerous skaters’ lives taken away on Flight 5342 with the Glacier Falls Figure Skating Club Junior Board
Published Rose Skates for Joy, a book dedicated to my own skating journey and to the journeys of other aspiring figure skaters willing to take on risks
Cofounded and became president of the Glacier Falls Junior Board, bringing in new members annually and hosting events and fundraisers; would eventually increase member to over 50 skaters
Given the opportunity to become a volunteer pathology assistant in prostate cancer at UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health
At Bracken’s Kitchen where I prepared and chopped hundreds of meals for the homeless, elderly, and families at a disadvantage.
At the Lundquist Institute, where I collaborated with medical professionals and other interns as a research assistant in skin and bone diseases.
This was the first time I experienced a competition from a judge’s point of view. They announced me not as a skater, but as a judge!
